Hi there, I’m so happy You’re here!

My name is Jada. I'm a psychotherapist, LCSW, and the owner of Alchemized Mind PLLC, where I offer virtual individual therapy to adults in Maine and Illinois.

My path to this work began in rural Maine, where I grew up. I supervised a mental health text line for teens and worked as a survivor advocate before moving to Chicago to attend graduate school at the University of Chicago. I've since built a life here, but Maine will always feel like home, too. While the two places are very different, I feel fortunate to work with people in both states.

I am extremely grateful to be a therapist. One of the things I value most about this work is getting to know people beyond what they're struggling with. I love learning who they are, what matters to them, and how they see the world. I don't take for granted the trust it takes to let someone into your life. I want you to feel that I'm genuinely invested in our conversations, that I'm listening, thinking alongside you, and willing to share what I'm noticing. I take my work seriously, but I don't believe I need to be overly formal or distant to be a good therapist. At the end of the day, I'm a person too, and I want that to come through in our work together.

My Approach

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, and I consider myself an active participant in our work together. My approach is person-centered, meaning I recognize that you're the expert on your own life. I see it as my responsibility to weave together my training, experience, and what I learn about you into an approach that reflects who you are and what you need. We'll pay attention to what works, what doesn't, and adjust as we go.

COME AS YOU ARE

You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want to talk about. Some days you might have a lot on your mind, and other days you might not know where to start. There's room for difficult conversations, vulnerability, laughter, and everything in between. I want you to feel comfortable showing up as you are, without worrying about what therapy is supposed to look like.

support & Challenge

I'm not the therapist who's going to simply nod along for 50 minutes. I'll help you recognize patterns, think through challenges, and explore what might need to change. My goal is for you to leave our sessions with not just a sense of being understood, but new perspectives and tangible tools you can carry into your everyday life.

a little more about me

Outside my work as a therapist, I try to practice what I preach by making time for the people and experiences that bring me joy. I love spending time with family and friends, staying active, enjoying live music, and traveling with my partner. In fact, the travel photographs featured throughout this website are ones I’ve taken along the way!

I’m also a very proud dog mom to Autumn, our Boston Terrier, and my unofficial assistant. She's full of personality, though during sessions you're more likely to find her sleeping quietly in my office. I think she enjoys working from home even more than I do!
